Marketing is complex and dynamic; Marketing is a journey, not a destination. One of the most important things that affects your marketing is how well your various tactics integrate, support and complement one another. Take your email marketing, for example, ideally, it will support your blog strategy; and your social media marketing will support your email marketing. Each platform is strategically tied to each other.

Most brands find this integration challenging. Honestly, it is a difficult task when you have several marketing initiatives going at once. It is particularly overwhelming when you need those tactics to play nice with each other. In order to achieve this goal effectively, you must have a bird’s eye view on your marketing strategy. A tool called a Mind Map will help you maintain a laser focus on the whole picture.

What is a Mind Map?

A Mind Map is a visual tool that allows you to brainstorm and foresee connections between various ideas and concepts. It’s a simple tool that you can create with nothing more than a pencil and paper. If you’re a digital person there are some straight forward digital mind mapping tools you can find online.

Essentially, a Mind Map is created by placing one central idea in the middle of the page. From there you’ll branch out and identify the various marketing tactics you’re currently using. This allows you to see them all at once. You can then begin to identify ways to link the tactics together.

Connections with Purpose

Viewing your marketing Mind Map, you’ll begin to brainstorm ways to can connect your various tactics. For example, you might be able to identify tasks that overlap and several ways you can integrate your efforts. This is what it looks like in the real world; your new product launch could support an ongoing promotional tactic you are already using.

Maximize Opportunities

Mind Maps are key to achieving clarity. They also help you identify patterns and recurrences. This is good. You can now take care of those redundancies to save money and time.

Comprehensive Exploration

In addition to taking a broad scale look at your ongoing marketing efforts, you can also explore your marketing team, budget, and competition. You can view how your pricing, products and services fit into the equation. You can also evaluate your resources, your marketing budget and your intended marketing outcomes.

Use your marketing Mind Map to help you find clarity. Use it to help you forge connections between your initiatives as well as help you identify opportunities to leverage your various resources.
