FAMILY Magazine, Second Edition is now available and the content is enlightening. To hear Dr. Jacqueline Brooks discuss the publication in her own words, watch the video below.
In the video, Dr. Brooks explains the rationale for publishing this resource guide as well as how citizens can get a copy.
She says FAMILY allows the Macon County school system to tell its own story. She also suggests that there is freedom in having a media property the school system controls. In prior years, she would pay for advertising in other publications to get exposure for Macon County school projects. At other times, administrators would seek news media coverage. Sometimes they got lucky and other times no reporter or camera would show up.
FAMILY magazine gives local schools their own platform and voice.
This edition, features stories and photos highlighting community involvement, literacy and career tech programs.
