The Presidents of the Resident Councils were invited to a presentation on the T-100 project. The goal was for the public housing leaders to learn about the T-100, ask the questions that are important to their constituents and spread the information throughout the public housing community.
In a meeting room at the Tuskegee Housing Authority, a highly productive experience unfolded and even young children were present, soaking up the knowledge.
Joe Turnham explained the history of the T-100, background of Leonardo DRS, historical connection between the Tuskegee Airmen and this project and the economic impact the T-100 manufacturing plant could potentially have on Tuskegee and Macon County.
The attendees asked candid questions about a wide range of issues including whether utility rates could be a detriment to this project and future large-scale opportunities, the types of jobs that will be available at the T-100 manufacturing facility and whether age would be a barrier to getting hired.
