Pre-K to PhD: What T-100 Means to Me

Community activist and PTA president, Tia Pierrot organized a T-100 Town Hall Forum, held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 on the campus of Tuskegee University.

She first presented the concept of “Pre-K to PhD: What T-100 Means to Me” while participating in a Stakeholders Engagement Meeting on July 20, 2017. The Stakeholders Engagement Meeting was convened to generate ideas for the 100 Days of T-100 campaign that kicked off on July 31, 2017.

Pierrot and her team, which included local community leaders Bernice Frazier and Joe Davis, emphasized the need for children and young people to be informed of the potential impact the T-100 project could have on their futures.

Presenters at the Town Hall Forum included Macon County Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Jacqueline Brooks, Tuskegee University head of the School of Architecture and Construction Science; Kwesi Daniels, Tuskegee Mayor Tony Haygood, economic development expert Joe Turnham and BTW high school freshman, Malcolm Moss who talked about the letters he and his schoolmates sent to The White House in support of the T-100 training fighter jet.

If the Air Force chooses the T-100, which is produced by Leonardo DRS, a $300 million dollar factory will be built at Moton Field in Tuskegee. Leonardo DRS chose this airport to honor the Tuskegee Airmen. For more information, visit www.airmenlegacy.com.
