Harvest Festival – Safe Alternative

Recognize Macon County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jacqueline Brooks?

Each year, she and her family hold meetings to decide what their Harvest Festival look will be. This year they were ‘The Brookstones,”their version of the “The Flintstones,” cartoon characters who lived during the prehistoric age and made television audiences laugh in the 1960’s.

With mild temperatures and clear skies, the weather provided a perfect backdrop for the festivities. It appears that many people are serious about costuming. Just check out the pictures posted here.

There were ghosts and ghoulish creatures prowling the grounds at Booker T. Washington High School along with bands performing high energy routines. Children with bags and buckets collected lots of candy.

It was a wonderful community event for the young and the young-at-heart.

The video above hits the highlights.
